Lead with what you do for people
Visitors decide within seconds whether you solve their problem. A headline describing the outcome you produce beats a job title every time.
Save the biography for further down. It matters, but it is not the thing that keeps someone on the page.
Show three things properly
Three well-explained projects convince more than twelve thumbnails. For each, say what the problem was, what you did, and what changed as a result.
If you cannot describe the outcome, it is probably not your strongest piece of work to lead with.
Make contact effortless
The most common failure on portfolio sites is a contact section that requires the visitor to open their email client and compose something from scratch.
A booking link or a short enquiry form converts far better, because it removes the blank page.
Keep it current
An abandoned site is worse than no site. If updating it requires a build step and a deployment, you will not do it.
Pick something you can edit between meetings.
